Meredith Family Vineyard Wines

Chardonnay

2009 Chardonnay Barrel Select
This Chardonnay was pressed gently with a membrane press, cooled and settled. The clear juice, with brix 24 and Ph 3.1, was placed in new American Oak with four different toasts. Stirred early every 2-3 weeks for 8 weeks then stirred every 6 weeks till one year old, this wine was fermented on the lees and allowed to complete malo-lactic fermentation to broaden the mouth feel. This thick and rich butter cream with pineapple and oak will stand up well to any dish your favorite restaurant can throw at you.

Cabernet

2004 Cabernet:
An intense, deep, flavorful ruby red wine full of cabernet fruit and black pepper.

2003 Cabernet:
The King of the vineyard yields 2.5 to 3.5 tons/acre and is the last to be harvested. Commonly it hangs into November…and hangs…till the acid and sugars balance. Three years in American and French barrels soften and complex this great wine into the signature wine of the vineyard. Small berries, sun, and cool nights bring out the black pepper and cherry. Fifteen percent Merlot is blended in to fill out the middle and it is ready drink.

Gold Medal winner at the Long Beach Grand Cru.

Merlot

2004 Merlot:
This venerable French variety from Bordeaux thrives at the Meredith Family Ranch and consistently produces a deep red, highly extracted red that is aged 2 years in French and American oak barrels, then 2 years in the bottle to bring out its full bouquet. It is smooth with complex varietal merlot flavors. This wine can make any Pinot go Sideways.

Sangiovese

2007 Sangiovese:
Made with Tuscany’s principle Chianti grape, grown at the Meredith Family Ranch, this medium body, aromatic ruby wine explodes with a bouquet of roses with hints of cranberry and an acid balance to refresh the palate and make the last bite of the entrée taste as intense as the last bite.

Tulip Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc:
2007 was a great growing season for the whites…as the grapes hung and hung and turned from green to gold and concentrated the flavors in the late fall sun. This Sauvignon Blanc was named after our son Gabriel’s watercolor “Tulips” done when he was 8 [see front label]. There is no “grass” in this jasmine and pink grapefruit cold fermented fruit bomb. Temporarily Unavailable.

Homestead

Bottled in early January 2009 the first 150 of 1000 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc blend has been released. This soft and fruity California table wine spent 22 months in American and French oak before select barrels were combined to create this crisp red wine with balanced, pleasant tannins, a vanilla nose and smooth complex finish.
